(cnr.cn) DSIC Delivers the First 308k DWT VLCC to Landbridge

Following her successful naming on Aug.28, the first 308k DWT VLCC “Landbridge Fortune”constructed for Shandong Landbridge Group was signed for delivery on Aug.29 officially. 

DSIC is the first domestic shipbuilder in building VLCC (Very Large Crude Oil Carrier), also the one with highest domestic building performances in VLCC. Over years,  VLCC has become an independent brand to put into market on a large scale, especially for the new-type low oil consumption and anti-sediment VLCC, whose comprehensive performance indicators of speed and oil consumption are leading domestic and achieve the international advanced level.  Through constant upgrading and optimization, build up DSIC’s own brand shiptype of VLCC, increasingly favored by shipowners. There is an orderbook of more than 80 VLCCs bagged in grand total, whose building quantity has reached 10% of the global VLCC fleet, well known as  DSIC’s “VLCC Fleet” worldwide.

As a prepotent shiptype of DSIC, adoption of design with proprietary intellectual property, and unceasing development aboard VLCC and upgrade have guaranteed her world advanced overall technical indicators. As the 7th generation of super energy-saving and environment-friendly shipype, “Landbridge Fortune” delivered this time has continued to use safe, economic and environmental design proposals, such as excellent hull forms, new-type large-diameter and high-efficiency propeller, pre-and post-propeller composite energy-saving device with full proprietary intellectual property, latest energy-saving G type M/E and patented anti-sediment ballast. Under the same cargo capacity, M/E daily oil consumption has been further decreased, which is a VLCC with the most advanced and greenest design and the lowest oil consumption. The vessel has adopted construction method of bow-block and stern-block closure in dock, where in-dock and on-water periods are shortened greatly while integrity of undocking and sea trial reaching good situation in the phase of project construction. All her performance indicators of speed, oil consumption and EEDI, and building quality have received high praise from the shipowners.
